BRIDGEWATER HOSTS FIRST FALL FESTIVAL
TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 26, 2009) – As Pasco County prepares for cooler temperatures and shorter days, the Bridgewater Community Homeowners Association is putting the finishing touches on the Inaugural Fall Festival. The event, which was conceptualized out of a need for community camaraderie and a desire to raise money for a local charity, is quickly becoming the largest HOA-hosted event Pasco County has ever seen, expecting over 70 vendors. The event kicks off in the Bridgewater community park located on Wells Road just east of the Wesley Chapel School District on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The festival promises a unique blend of Pasco County fellowship and hometown block party fun featuring live music, great food, local artist showcases, youth activities and retail vendors. The Pasco County Sheriff’s Department and Fire Rescue squad will give safety demonstrations throughout the day. Other highlights include karate performances and a “Thriller” dance special between 2 – 4 p.m. as well as Shapes’ “Zumba” demonstrations and the Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative’s high voltage shows throughout the day. Attendees are encouraged to donate to Florida Blood Services and visit the Walgreen’s flu-shot clinic booth.
“We are thrilled to be putting this community’s park and recreation space to good use,” said event organizer and Bridgewater resident Lynne Tonte. “We’ve had such a positive response from nearby schools, business owners and civic organizations; I think there’s tremendous potential for this to become a Wesley Chapel signature event.”
A special area near Bridgewater’s dog park is reserved for Pasco County Animal Services and the Wesley Chapel Veterinary Clinic so attendees can enjoy educational demonstrations and low-cost pet vaccines. Groomers, dog boutiques and other furry-friendly vendors are set to attend as well. Pets on leashes are welcome but they may not be left unattended.
Net proceeds benefit the Helping Hands Food Pantry of Wesley Chapel. Donations of non-perishable food items are accepted. With a $5 donation, guests can enter a chance drawing to win a Sunburst Fender Squier Stratocaster guitar, one of just thirty prizes being given out during the chance drawing. Guests who donate blood or non-perishable food items or visit one of the many open houses on the day of the festival can enter a special chance drawing to win a two-night hotel stay.
